Yvonne Ofosu-Appiah

Yvonne Ofosu-Appiah is an entrepreneur, investment professional and Independent Board Director. Her work experience spans fourteen years working in diverse capacities within the banking, capital and private markets industries in Ghana.

Yvonne is a business builder and is experienced in building teams and businesses from the scratch. Notably, she has been involved in the pre-launch phase of a private equity and a venture capital fund dedicated to investing in SMEs in Ghana.

Yvonne is experienced with financing and investing in SMEs in a myriad of sectors including financial services, renewable energy, agriculture, and manufacturing, having led deal teams on several quasi equity and debt investment transactions within Sub Saharan Africa, particularly Ghana. She is currently the CIO for Wangara Green Ventures where she drives the investment process and leads the team in making investments in SMEs for financial, environmental, and social returns. Prior to this role, she held senior management positions in asset management companies and banks in Ghana. She was also involved in consulting projects for Actis LLP and Plumis in the UK.

Yvonne holds an MBA (Finance) from the University of Cambridge Judge Business School, UK and BCom (First Class honors) from the University of Cape Coast Business School, Ghana. She holds a Certificate in Investment Management from ANDE and in Impact Measurement from Said Business School, University of Oxford, UK. She recently sat for the CFA Level 3exams. She holds a Certificate in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors, UK.

Yvonne serves as Independent Board Member on private and public organizations and is a regular speaker on plenaries at conferences and webinars related to early stage investing, climate financing, gender lens investing and other environmental and social impact related issues across Africa.
